Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) is a common type of bladder control dysfunction found in women. SUI is characterized by involuntary loss of urine with increased abdominal pressure from physical activities such as coughing, sneezing, dancing, running, climbing stairs, exercise and laughing. It is a common, challenging, and often overlooked post-pregnancy condition.

While there are a variety of reasons for urinary incontinence the underlying reason for most women is weakness in the perineal muscle. This weakening can take place during pregnancy and childbirth but is also a common symptom of the aging process.

Laser therapies, such as Fotona Incontilase, can be utilized to help restore strength and structure to the perineal muscle while decreasing overall laxity.

We recommend booking a consultation to meet with Vida (our Senior Medical Esthetician) or Allyson (one of our RNs) if you are interested in learning more about treatment for Stress Urinary Incontinence.

At Nu Image, treatment plans for SUI are developed by Dr. James Bastian, an MD with specialization in Gynecology.
