Fat Transfer

Fat transfer is a safe, natural and non-allergenic procedure because it takes unwanted fat from a patient and places the fat in another part of the body that requires it. No allergic reaction occurs since it’s the patient’s own fat being placed into another part of the body.

Fat Transfer at Nu Image Medi-Spa is performed on an out-patient basis. You can expect to receive a localized anesthetic in two areas: the donor site (which is the area from which fat is taken) and the recipient site (the area where the fat will be re-injected).

A small needle attached to a syringe will be used to draw the fat. Excess fluid is removed and the fat is then re-injected into the skin of the targeted area. This process can be repeated to achieve the desired results.

Fat Transfer or Awake Liposculpture: What is the Difference?

Fat Transfer simply removes a certain amount of fat from one part of the body and places the fat into another part of the body. Only the required amount of fat that is needed for the transfer is removed from the donor site.

Awake Liposculpture removes the maximum allowable amount of fat from an area of the body that a client feels is too large, and would like that area reduced and re-shaped into a smaller silhouette. (ie. heavy thighs, abdomen)

Can Both Procedures Be Performed at Once?

At Nu Image Medi-Spa, patients may choose to have a Fat Transfer procedure performed at the same time as Awake Liposculpture.

Awake Liposculpture allows for a larger amount of fat to be removed, and then the Fat Transfer procedure would follow, re-injecting the fat into the targeted area. For example, a client may want to remove as much fat as possible from her thighs, but would like the fat re-injected into her breasts to increase the size and shape. In this case, the client would expect to pay for 2 separate procedures.
