Dr. James Bastian

A Doctor of Medicine from the University of Saskatchewan and a fellow of the Royal College of Obstetrics and Gynecology of Canada (FRCS), Dr. James Bastian learned firsthand what matters most to women.

Practicing medicine in Saskatchewan since 1989 to present, Dr. Bastian has a robust private practice focused on women's health care. Beyond his practice, he has shared his expertise with various medical committees, including the Directorship of the Women's Health Center of the Regina Qu'Appelle Health Region and the medical students of the University of Saskatchewan as a professor.

An important lesson that Dr. Bastian learned through his outstanding career in obstetrics and gynecology was that women care as much about their appearance as the way they feel.

In order to best serve his patients, Dr. Bastian cultivated both knowledge and skills using lasers to provide aesthetics - hair removal, treatment of spider veins, MicroLaserPeels, and photorejuvenation. He is also recognized as an expert Botox injector and has a large practice involving the use of cosmetic fillers, such as Juvederm. A leader in the management of cellulite reduction and facial skin tightening, Dr. Bastian uses bipolar and unipolar radiofrequencies.

Today, patients and clients place their trust in Dr. Bastian’s 20 plus years of experience using of lasers in women's health care. He is a member of the American Society of Lipo-Suction Surgery.

Dr. Bastian founded the Nu Image Cosmetic Laser Center in Regina, Saskatchewan in March 2000. It gives him great personal satisfaction to see people look and feel their best and to help men and women enjoy a newer positive self image.

Ever since she was a little girl growing up in Prince Albert, Peggy Louise Bastian was known as "P.L."

In 1979 P.L. graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Saskatchewan, then completed her Masters Degree in Educational Psychology in 1988. Moving to Regina in 1989, P.L. established a private counseling practice. Her work as a psychologist has helped countless families in Regina for over two decades.

P.L.'s positive experiences in nursing and psychology, combined with her passion to provide personalized care and attention has proven to enrich the Nu Image Medi-Spa experience.

The Nu Image Team

The Nu Image Team consists of a doctor and nurses who specialize in cosmetic procedures, a team of aestheticians, laser technicians, and a makeup artist whose goal is to help you Look Better and Feel Better.

Our Spa Director and Marketing Coordinator work behind the scenes to enrich the Nu Image experience through thoughtfulness and personalization.

The end result is that you have a relaxing experience in the care of people you trust.

Family room at the new Maternity floor of Regina General Hospital
Nu Image has pledged $25,000 to build a family room in the new Maternity floor of Regina General Hospital. When mothers and fathers have a newborn baby who needs intensive medical care at Regina General Hospital, they will now be able to stay in a family room close to their baby.

After Dr. Bastian's career in obstetrics and gynecology, the Mother and Baby unit is dear to our hearts.

Hospitals of Regina Foundation
Nu Image continues to be a proud supporter of the Hospitals of Regina Foundation. Dr. and Mrs. Bastian donated to the fifth Dilawri Gala to enhance emergency and trauma services in our community, contributing to the level of care for critically injured patients from across southern Saskatchewan.

A new hospital in Nigeria
Nu Image is pleased to support the mission of Dr. Amos Akinibiyi, who is currently building a hospital in Nigeria. We were delighted to learn that after years of planning and fundraising by Dr. Akinbiyi, the first floor of the hospital is now completed!
